July 5th - July 7th, 2018.

After selling out across Sydney and New Zealand it's Byron's turn to soak up the incredible message - fear less, live more, because we’re all going to die anyway right?

The three-day mini-festival deals with themes around fear through the lens of our inevitable death. This multi-media festival of art, film, photography and immersive experiences, created by local and international artists, will spring up all over Byron across Studio Tropico, Pighouse Flicks, the Solar Train, Beach Hotel, Service Denim and The Byron Scout Hall over July 5 - 7. Don’t be fooled by the taboo name though, think of this event as an amusement park for your soul.

Opening Night. The Book Launch.
We’re making it all about community for the first night by having a book launch with a twist at the Byron Bay Scout Hall. Enjoy fresh milk & mystery flavoured cookies baked by Folk café as local band Babe Rainbow sings the We're All Going To Die book with a musical score. Following the performance Dumbo feather magazine will host a Q & A with the author / illustrator Stefan Hunt. The We’re All Going To Die book is an adaptation of the original poem by Stefan Hunt and is described as a Dr Seus-esque ‘children’s book for adults’. It is sure to make you ponder, chuckle and hug your loved ones a little extra by the end of the night.

We're All Going To Die Mini-Film Fest
11 award-winning international directors tackle themes of fear and death as part of We’re All Going To Die ’s movement to fear less and live more! Stefan Hunt assigned each director a theme around fear and death, along with an open brief to explore it on screen. Showcased in Byron’s Pighouse Flicks, the films, including Hunt’s own film adaptation of his book We’re All Going to Die, loop through comedy, drama, documentary and dance. A Q&A with directors Stefan Jose (Byron) Stefan Hunt (Byron) and Cate Stewart (Central Coast) follows the screening.

Tory Bauer X Stefan Hunt collaboration
All aboard the Byron Solar Train Conversation Carriage. The philosophy of this immersive art installation is simple. It’s all about disconnecting to reconnect. Instead of using the journey to look at your social media feed, it’s a phone free area, where you simply have a conversation with a stranger instead. We provide the questions (printed on a postcard) and you get chatting about life & fear with your new friend.
